By registering an account, accessing, or playing Coven & Crown at covencrown.com or game.covencrown.com (the "Service"), operated by Edge Case Software, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.
2. Account Creation & Fair Play Rules
- Age Requirement: You must be at least 13 years old to register an account and play Coven & Crown.
- One Account Per Player: To preserve fair play, players are permitted one active account unless explicitly permitted by game administration. Creating multiple accounts ("multi-accounting") to farm resources or bypass cooldowns is strictly forbidden.
- Account Security: You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You are liable for all actions taken through your account.
- No Real-Money Trading (RMT): Buying, selling, or trading game accounts, gold, items, or expedition loot for real-world currency or out-of-game assets is strictly prohibited.
3. Code of Conduct & Anti-Cheat Policy
Coven & Crown is a competitive, text-forward dark fantasy RPG. Players must adhere to our conduct guidelines:
- No Unauthorized Automation: Using third-party bots, auto-clickers, macros, or scripts to automate combat, Crownvault runs, or Blackwood expeditions is strictly prohibited.
- No Exploit Abuse: Intentionally exploiting software glitches, server desyncs, or mechanics flaws is forbidden. Discovered exploits must be reported to administration immediately.
- Harassment & Toxicity: Severe harassment, hate speech, abusive language, or impersonating game developers in public channels, duels, or missives will result in account banishment.
- System Abuse: Attempting to probe, attack, compromise, or overload game servers or APIs is illegal and subject to permanent termination and legal remedies.
4. Virtual Assets & Beta Resets
All in-game assets, character levels, items, gold, equipment, and Crownvault achievements are virtual elements provided solely for entertainment within the game:
- Virtual items and currency have zero real-world cash value.
- During active development and open beta phases, Edge Case Software reserves the right to rebalance mechanics, adjust item stats, or execute planned database/season wipes when necessary for game balance.
5. Service Availability & Updates
We strive to maintain stable servers, but Coven & Crown is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We reserve the right to deploy updates, perform server restarts, or suspend service for maintenance without prior notice.
6. Intellectual Property
All lore, artwork, code, visual design elements, trademarks, and game copy associated with Coven & Crown are the exclusive intellectual property of Edge Case Software. You are granted a limited, personal, non-commercial license to play the game.
7. Account Suspension & Banishment
Edge Case Software reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or permanently ban any account that violates these Terms or harms the community, at our sole discretion.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Edge Case Software and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your access to or inability to access the Service.
9. Updates to Terms
We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
